Self Portrait

This is my second texture assignment project. My idea came from a picture of myself when I was little. It didn't turn out how the picture was because I started off painting the head to large but I think I made it into my own idea.

Skyline

This is one of my texture projects for art. It's different, at first I wasn't extremely happy with it but it's growing on me.

Just for Fun

So this is an art piece that I've started just doing for fun for Christmas. Up above is the original by Lucie Lapointe. I found this on the Pacific Gallery in Saskatoon website. This is how far I've got right now...

Art in the process...

This the start of my latest art project. I suppose Ellise, Chel and I are going with a warm colour theme as to try and make an attempt at tying our canvases together. I used a few random things I found around the house to give it some texture....yes this is where it's at right now.

A few of my pieces...

This is Van Gogh's Starry Night that I tried to copy. On mine the colours are brighter I would say so I didn't get it perfect and I believe the town looks closer up. I had it framed in black and gold at michaels...along with the others below.
I did this during the summer. I copied a picture that I really liked from a post card we had from Bologna, Italy when we went there on holiday. I used newspaper behind it to give it an older style feel and had it framed in an antique looking frame.

Inspiration!

I love Sabrina Ward Harrison's artwork! I get a lot of ideas from her crazy and extremely creative masterpeices. I like that she pushes the limits on her art and isn't afraid to go above and beyond the normal. I have used these style of faces in my art a few times now and I just can't get enough of them. I think they are the coolest things out there. They add a creative element to a piece and really gives it personality. I am a huge fan of mixed media and have really gotten into it more in the last while. I think that mixed media just holds this mystery about it and really makes you take that extra second to look and see the hidden treasure.
