Been a while..

Wow, It has been sometime since I have been on my blog. It is kind of neat to go back through all of my posts and read and look at that art I've done over the past few years. Since I've been in university I haven't got the chance to do as much art as I would like but I suppose that is how life goes.

My Last Project of Grade 12...

Stage 5: Well this picture of it kinda sucks. I couldn't get a picture of it without a glare but here it is, the finale! I added pink accents pretty much everywhere. I put it in the treasure map design, on top of extra circles of silver metallic in the background and on her shirt. There also is text in this picture...I know its hard to tell because you pretty well have to be right up close to see it. But, I wrote text all around the girl and in the background as well. Overall I'm happy with it. It's different for something I would usually do but I'm happy that I got out of my comfort zone and did something new.
Stage 4: Painted the headband a couple different shades of pink and some white, outlined it black, and outlined the while girl in white as well. Also put in the treasure map style design up top.
stage 3: I fixed the shape of her hair a little bit and also her face. I added in her facial features and outlined her.

Stage 2: This is the beginning of "the girl." I taped paper together and drew out the outline of the girl on that then cut her out so I could trace her onto the canvas. This girl is my version of one of Elsie's designs. For her headband I used masking tape to build it up so it stands out from the rest.
Stage 1: Well, Technically stage one would simply be the newspaper as the background but I decided to combine the two. This is newspaper, tape, sand, tissue paper, gel medium, and acrylic paint. I did it in a "repetitive pattern" of circles.

4/4 concentration pieces - finished

Finally!!! I am completely finished my art project! This is my hockey scene. It is my last concentration piece. I like the colours and of course I like it for the simple fact that they are playing hockey, my favorite sport.

3/4 Concentration Pieces - Rain Scene finished

My rain scene is finished now. I added in the grass to complete it. Over all I'm pretty happy with the outcome. I like the colour scheme of it. Enjoy!

3/4 Concentration Pieces - Rain Scene

This is my rain scene so far. I only have to do the grass and I'll be finished my 3rd concentration piece. The way things are going it looks like the prairie scene will kind of be the odd one out because all the others have mostly blues and greens in them. oh well. haha

Winter 2 of 4 concentration pieces

This is my second concentration piece, it's again by the artist Lucie Lapointe. I like the colour scheme better in this one compared to the prairie scene one. I had to cut off some of the painting that the original had because it didn't all fit on the canvas. I like the happy and joyous feeling you get from these paintings.

Prairie Scene finished

Up top is the original of the painting that I did below. The colours are different of course but I tried as best as I could to stick close to the same colour pallet. I really enjoy doing paintings of this style.

Prairie Scene

This is the beginning of my 4 part concentration. It is a prairie scene by Lucie Lapointe that I really liked. She is the same artist of the winter scene that I did. I'm going to focus around her style of art for this projects.

My Maria

This is another one of those little wood pieces that I did. I'm making a group of three to put on my one small wall in my room. I painted a Farris Wheel on it because the picture of Maria and me was taken on the Farris Wheel this past summer. I just kind of made it look little kid-ish.

Twilight...

So this is another Edward and Bella picture that I am beginning. It is only a rough sketch at the moment but I think I'm going to do it in pencil crayon. I really love the Twilight series and I could do a million art pieces that focus on these two characters. I love the passion and desire they have for one another. It's rather admirable...
